Vitra's DKR Wire Chair was created in 1951 when Charles and Ray Eames, inspired by Buckminster Fuller's work, decided to create a light and durable chair with as small amount of materials as possible. The most functional solution turned out to be a square-shaped cross structure in steel wire.
